Château Guiraud is a Sauternes premier cru classé in the commune of Sauternes itself, farmed organically and among the first classed growths to be certified. Its botrytised Sémillon carries an unusually high share of Sauvignon Blanc, which gives a fresher, more citrus-driven line than most of the appellation: candied citrus and apricot over acacia honey, saffron, beeswax and a touch of pineapple. It ages for decades, turning toward marmalade and crème brûlée.
