Tasting profile

Structure: full-bodied, medium tannin, medium acidity, dry

Cartuxa Colheita is the classic red of Adega Cartuxa, the winery of the Fundação Eugénio de Almeida, housed in the former Carthusian monastery outside Évora in the Alentejo. A blend of Alicante Bouschet, Aragonez and Trincadeira, it is fermented in stainless steel with extended maceration, then aged around a year in French oak barrels and large vats. Ripe plum, blackberry and cherry meet cedar, spice and dried herbs on a generous, rounded frame that drinks well young and keeps for several years.
