Barrica

Tasting profile

Structure: medium-bodied, medium tannin, medium acidity, dry

Laus Barrica is the oak-aged red of Bodegas Laus in Barbastro, at the foot of the Pyrenees in DO Somontano, blended from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah and given about five months in barrel. The short élevage rounds the fruit without dominating it: dark berries and plum with a light vanilla and toast frame and a peppery Syrah lift. Medium-bodied, supple and fresh, with soft, ripe tannins, it is made for drinking within a few years of the vintage rather than for long cellaring. Serve around 16°C.
