Tasting profile

Structure: medium-bodied, medium tannin, high acidity, dry

An Oregon Pinot Noir blended across appellations rather than drawn from one site, and the two halves are deliberately opposite: most of the fruit comes from high, south-facing vineyards at around a thousand feet in the Santiam Pass foothills on ancient volcanic Jory soils, where ripening is a genuine struggle and the acidity that results is the point; the rest comes from Ribbon Ridge, which gives opulence and juiciness. Fermented in small open-top vats with native yeasts, then six months split between French oak and tank. Dark and red cherry over mocha, forest floor and a floral lift, medium-bodied with high acidity and fine, satiny tannin.
