Tasting profile
Structure: light-bodied, low tannin, high acidity, dry
Lukas van Loggerenberg's Lötter is Cinsaut, with a few Sémillon vines mixed in, from a dry-farmed bush-vine vineyard in Franschhoek planted in 1932 by Koos Lötter, one of the oldest red-wine vineyards in South Africa, on decomposed granite over sandstone. Destemmed and fermented and aged in concrete for about ten months, with no wood at all. Pale, pure and fragrant: red cherry, wild strawberry and pomegranate with white pepper, rose and a herbal fynbos note. Light-bodied, with lacy tannin and fresh acidity. Lovely young, and it also ages gracefully.
