Côtes de Gascogne white from Colombard and Sauvignon Blanc — and Colombard is the interesting half. It was historically grown in Gascony to be distilled into Armagnac, where high acidity and low alcohol are virtues. When the brandy market contracted, growers turned it into table wine instead, and that same searing acidity is exactly why these are so refreshing. The numbered range denotes style rather than quality. Expect grapefruit and green apple with passionfruit, white flowers and citrus zest, light-bodied with a touch of residual sweetness balanced against high acidity. Off-dry in measurement, crisp in effect. Drink it young and very cold, as an aperitif or with goat cheese, shellfish or something gently spiced. One of the reliably good-value whites in France.
