Tasting profile

Structure: full-bodied, medium tannin, medium acidity, dry

Substance is a Charles Smith label from Washington's Columbia Valley. The 'Cs' bottling is a straight Cabernet Sauvignon from the Goose Ridge, Frenchman Hills and Coyote Canyon vineyards, aged about a year in French oak. It is a ripe, plush, good-value Cabernet with cassis, blackberry and black cherry, pencil shavings, cocoa and cedar, and soft, rounded tannin. It drinks well on release and is best within a few years.
