Tasting profile
Structure: full-bodied, medium acidity, dry
Stoneleigh's Latitude Chardonnay comes from the stony, sun-trapping soils of the Wairau Valley in northern Marlborough. Only free-run juice is barrel-fermented in French and Hungarian oak, a small share of it new, and the lees are stirred for up to eight months for weight and texture. The result is a rich, rounded Chardonnay of yellow apple, peach and pineapple with grilled lemon, brioche and toasty oak, a creamy palate lifted by Marlborough acidity and a flinty finish, at around 14% alcohol.
