The Reserva from Quinta dos Aciprestes, Real Companhia Velha's large schist estate in the Douro Superior near Tua. Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Sousão from selected parcels, fermented in steel and aged 12 months in French oak (about a fifth new). Intense and aromatic: dark berries and red fruit with violet, rockrose and a spicy lift, a fresh Sousão acidity and firm, fine tannin. Polished modern Douro that drinks young but gains from a few years in bottle.
