Clos du Rocher Vendanges Tardives

Tasting profile

Structure: full-bodied, low tannin, medium acidity, sweet

A late-harvest sweet white from Obrist's Clos du Rocher in Yvorne Grand Cru, in the Chablais of Vaud. It is made from Doral, a Swiss crossing of Chasselas and Chardonnay; the grapes shrivel on the vine until a December harvest, and the wine is aged about three years in new barrels. Candied citrus and exotic fruit with vanilla, tonka bean and honey, rich and sweet but balanced by fresh acidity.
