Tasting profile

Structure: medium-bodied, medium tannin, medium acidity, dry

Común is the Extremaduran Garnacha of Moreish, named after the local name for the grape, from a hillside vineyard planted in 2016 on clay with pebbles below and clay-limestone above. Garnacha copes well with the region's extremes here, ripening slowly and keeping its acidity. The grapes are destemmed but not crushed, fermented with indigenous yeasts in steel, aged about two years in used 500-litre French barrels and bottled unfined and unfiltered with minimal sulphur. Dark berry and plum fruit with dried herbs and a peppery lift, medium-bodied and fresh. Made for generous early drinking.
