El Viejo ("the old one") is the top wine of Matsu's Toro trio, made from very old, ungrafted Tinta de Toro vines and aged longer in French oak than El Recio. Deep and concentrated: black cherry and blackberry with licorice, cocoa, tobacco and toast, powerful and full-bodied with dense, polished tannins. Built for a decade and more.
