Tasting profile

Structure: full-bodied, medium tannin, medium acidity, dry

Caliza ("limestone") is the approachable red of Marqués de Griñón's Dominio de Valdepusa estate near Toledo, one of Spain's first single-estate Vino de Pago appellations. About two-thirds Syrah with Petit Verdot, it is fruit-forward and full-bodied: blackberry, plum and violet, pepper and liquorice, with ripe, rounded tannins. Made to drink within its first several years rather than for long cellaring.

Serving: Serve at 16–18 °C.
