Alicante Bouschet is one of the few teinturier grapes, with red flesh as well as red skin, bred in France in 1866 by Henri Bouschet to deepen pale blends. The label describes a dark, inky red with toasted vanilla aromas, powerful and rich. Expect a deeply coloured, full-bodied red with blackberry and plum over vanilla oak and a firm, slightly rustic edge.
