Tasting profile

Structure: medium-bodied, low tannin, high acidity, dry

Jermann built their reputation in Friuli's north-eastern corner, and their varietal wines are bottled under the broad Venezia Giulia IGT, which allows fruit to be drawn across the estate's holdings rather than confined to one denomination. The house style tempers Sauvignon's aggression: elderflower and nettle are present, but so are white peach, grapefruit and a sage-like herbal note, and there is noticeably more mid-palate weight and a faint almond bitterness on the finish than the New Zealand template would lead you to expect. Dry and high in acidity — a Sauvignon built for the table rather than for the aperitif hour.
