Tasting profile
Structure: medium-bodied, high acidity, dry
Clos Saint André is a monopole near Mareuil-sur-Lay in the Vendée that the Mourat family bought in 2006 and farms organically. Tries de Mi-Pente is its dry Chenin Blanc from volcanic rhyolite and schist soils, hand-picked in successive passes ("tries") and fermented with wild yeasts. Taut and mineral, with apple, pear and white flowers and a smoky, flinty finish.
