Tasting profile

Structure: medium-bodied, medium tannin, medium acidity, dry

Haderburg's single-estate Pinot Nero from the Hausmannhof, a 5.5-hectare southwest-facing vineyard at about 400 metres near Salorno/Salurn in southern Alto Adige, bought by the Ochsenreiter family in 1985 and farmed biodynamically. Aged in barrique, it shows red cherry, raspberry and forest berries with liquorice, sweet spice and toasty oak over fine tannins and fresh mountain acidity; with bottle age the fruit dries and forest-floor and savoury notes come through.
