Tasting profile
Structure: medium-bodied, medium tannin, medium acidity, dry
Zone Orange is the skin-contact white of Gudule, Brussels' urban winery, made in the city from organically grown Alsatian Riesling and Gewürztraminer. Each variety is destemmed, fermented separately with native yeasts in open vats and macerated on its skins for about two weeks before pressing. The result is an amber wine with Gewürztraminer's lychee and rose over Riesling's citrus lift, orange peel, apricot and a gentle tannic grip. Bottled in 50 cl, it is a food wine for spice and cheese, best within a few years of the vintage.
