Tasting profile

Structure: full-bodied, high tannin, medium acidity, dry

The limited-edition top Tannat of El Capricho in Durazno, central Uruguay, made only in the better vintages and aged about 18 months in new French oak barrels. Dark brambly fruit with mint, licorice and peppery spice over a clear layer of vanilla oak. Firm, grippy Tannat tannins and fresh acidity make it a wine for red meat, and one that rewards some years in the cellar.
