Hervé Souhaut's Syrah from his Domaine Romaneaux-Destezet in the hills of Arlebosc, above Saint-Joseph in the northern Ardèche, from old granite vineyards farmed organically. Made the natural way, whole-bunch, with native yeasts and little or no sulphur, it is a juicy, transparent northern Rhône Syrah: blackberry, violet and blood orange with black olive, white pepper and a smoky, savoury edge, on fine tannins and bright acidity.
Serving: Serve at 15–17 °C.
