Vieilles Vignes

Tasting profile

Structure: medium-bodied, medium tannin, high acidity, dry

Old-vine Chinon from a small family estate at Rivière, on the left bank of the Vienne: pure Cabernet Franc with more depth than the domaine's young-vine cuvée. Expect red cherry and raspberry over a leafy, graphite edge, firm but fine tannins and fresh Loire acidity. Lively and crunchy in its first years, it softens into earthier, more savoury notes with some time in bottle.

Serving: Serve at 15–17 °C.
