Tasting profile

Structure: full-bodied, high tannin, high acidity, dry

Cuvée Beauvais is the structured Bourgueil of the Boucard family's Domaine de la Chanteleuserie, from vines planted in 1971 on the clay-limestone and tuffeau hillsides near Benais. Foot-trodden during a short fermentation in oak vats and aged in foudres, it shows blackberry, blackcurrant, graphite and forest-floor notes with firm tannins that soften over a decade or more.

Serving: Serve at 16–18 °C.
