Ross Cobb's Doc's Ranch bottling is a clonal selection of Swan and Calera Pinot Noir from vines at 1,000–1,100 feet on marine sedimentary soils in the far Sonoma Coast. It is fermented with about half whole clusters, and only a few hundred cases are made. Cinnamon, red cherry and pomegranate open onto Earl Grey tea, tangerine, aniseed and rosewater. The palate is weightless and light-bodied but concentrated, with finely chalky tannins and shimmering acidity carrying a long finish.
