Tasting profile

Structure: medium-bodied, medium tannin, medium acidity, dry

Gassies is the second wine of Château Rauzan-Gassies, a Margaux second growth in the 1855 classification. It comes from the estate's roughly 30 hectares and is made from younger vines and the parcels not chosen for the grand vin. Like the grand vin, it is a Cabernet Sauvignon-led blend with Merlot. Expect a lighter, earlier-drinking version of the château style: blackcurrant and plum with Margaux's violet perfume, cedar and graphite, and supple, fine-grained tannins.
