Tasting profile

Structure: full-bodied, high tannin, medium acidity, dry

Le Prestige is Château La Reyne's oak-aged Cahors, a family estate on the Lot valley terraces. It is pure Malbec from the second and third terraces, aged about 22 months in oak barrels and stainless steel. Deep, almost black in colour, it is dense and dark-fruited, with blackberry, blueberry and black cherry, violet and liquorice, and sweet spice and cocoa from the oak. The tannins are firm but fine. It needs a few years to soften and then rewards a decade or so in bottle. The estate has been certified organic since 2023.
