Tasting profile

Structure: medium-bodied, medium tannin, high acidity, dry

Farrside is By Farr's single-vineyard Pinot Noir from vines planted in 2001 on the Farr family estate at Bannockburn, Geelong. It is the darkest and most structured of the Farr Pinots, from red volcanic soils over limestone: dark cherry and plum with spice, violet and forest-floor savour, a firm, whole-bunch-influenced tannin frame and bright acidity. It is delicious in youth but rewards five to ten years in bottle.
