Made by Burke & Wills Winery, a small family operation at Mia Mia in Heathcote run by winemaker Andrew Pattison and Heather McCormack — the joke name belongs to a real estate, not a supermarket label. This is unapologetically the big end of Heathcote Shiraz: over 15% alcohol, packed with sweet ripe fruit and framed by toasty new American oak, with a faint port-like richness at the edges. Blackberry and plum lead, with vanilla, coconut and chocolate from the barrel and a warm spicy finish. Heathcote's Cambrian soils are what give the region's Shiraz its depth. Not a subtle wine and not trying to be — pour it with something off a grill.
