Don Jacobo is the flagship range of Bodegas Corral, a family winery founded in 1898 at Navarrete in Rioja Alta. The Gran Reserva is a traditional Tempranillo-led blend with Graciano and Mazuelo, aged for years in American oak and then in bottle before release. A mature bottle shows the classic old-Rioja profile: dried red cherry, tobacco, leather and sweet spice with mellow vanilla, silky worn-down tannin and lively acidity carrying it.
