Tasting profile
Structure: light-bodied, medium tannin, high acidity, dry
Anim's Clarence Pinot Noir comes from the Clarence House vineyard at the foot of Mount Rumney, between Hobart and the Coal River Valley, and blends several Pinot clones. Max Marriott wild-ferments it with a large share of whole bunches and ages it in French oak, about a quarter new. It is crunchy and lively: dark and red cherry with red plum and raspberry, a whole-bunch spice lift, fine tannins and bright Tasmanian acidity. It is lovely young and builds savoury depth over about eight years.
