Tasting profile

Structure: light-bodied, low tannin, high acidity, dry

Cuvée du Rosier is Pascal Janvier's pure Pineau d'Aunis, the rare, peppery red grape of the Loir valley, from about 1.6 hectares of 25-year-old vines on sandy clay in the Coteaux du Loir. Pale and light at around 12% alcohol, it looks and often drinks like young Pinot Noir: strawberry, sour cherry and cranberry with the variety's signature pink and white pepper, a touch of cinnamon spice, bright acidity and silky tannins.

Serving: Serve at 12–14 °C.
