Tasting profile
Structure: medium-bodied, high acidity, dry
The Alvarinho of Palácio da Brejoeira, the historic palace estate in Monção that was the first to bottle a single-varietal Alvarinho in the region and remains its benchmark. From estate vines in the Monção e Melgaço sub-region, kept on its lees before bottling, it is richer and more structured than most Vinho Verde: grapefruit, lemon and white peach with quince, a smoky edge and a long, saline finish. Unlike most Vinho Verde it rewards a few years in bottle, gaining texture and depth.

Where it comes from
Vinho Verde, Portugal
Vinho Verde comes from the Minho region in the cool, green, rainy north-west of Portugal, and the name means "green wine" in the sense of young and fresh rather than any colour.
Albariño
Albariño is a white grape from the damp, Atlantic-facing corner of northwest Spain, where it is the signature variety of Rías Baixas in Galicia and the source of some of the country's most refreshing whites.
