Tasting profile

Structure: full-bodied, medium tannin, medium acidity, dry

Owen Roe's Syrah takes its name from the shadows, and the wine leans that way — blackberry and dark plum wrapped in black olive, smoked meat and cracked pepper, with the savoury, almost northern-Rhône turn that Washington Syrah does so well. Full-bodied but lifted rather than heavy, tannin fine-grained. Good young for the fruit and the smoke, better still as it builds complexity toward the early 2030s.

Serving: Serve at 16–18 °C.
