Tasting profile
Structure: full-bodied, high tannin, high acidity, dry
The Baga Reserva of Marquês de Marialva, the flagship Bairrada label of the Adega Cooperativa de Cantanhede. Made from 100% Baga, Bairrada's thick-skinned, high-acid native grape, fully destemmed and aged about nine months in French oak. Cherry and plum with sweet spice, nutmeg, vanilla and mocha from the barrel, over the variety's firm tannins and bright acidity. A structured, food-hungry red, classically paired with Bairrada's roast suckling pig, that softens with a few years in bottle.
