Ried Kirchweingarten Zweigelt

Tasting profile

Structure: full-bodied, medium tannin, high acidity, dry

Ried Kirchweingarten is Gerhard Markowitsch's top Zweigelt, from about 1.2 hectares of clay-rich slope directly below the church in Höflein, Carnuntum, aged around 18 months in 500-litre barrels and large casks. Dark fruit, black cherry and blackberry with spice and cocoa, velvety tannins and a firm structure held by fresh acidity. A Zweigelt that shows the grape's capacity to age.

Serving: Serve at 16–18 °C.
