Tasting profile

Structure: medium-bodied, medium tannin, high acidity, dry

Kristinus's Clayver Kékfrankos comes from the estate's biodynamically farmed vines at Balatonboglár, on the south shore of Lake Balaton. It is fermented spontaneously on its skins and aged for over a year in Clayver ceramic vessels, then bottled unfined and unfiltered at about 13%. The clay keeps the fruit pure and taut: dark and sour cherry, rosehip, violet and lavender, with herbs, fine acidity and a saline, mineral finish. The structure lets it gain savoury depth over several years.

Serving: Serve at 15–17 °C.
