Tasting profile
Structure: full-bodied, high tannin, medium acidity, dry
Élevage is Herdade do Sobroso's flagship red from Vidigueira in the southern Alentejo. It is pure Alicante Bouschet from south-facing schist and clay plots, aged around a year in traditional clay talhas (amphorae) rather than barrel. Without oak it keeps the fruit vivid: plum, blackberry and sour cherry with white pepper and a fresh menthol lift, over dense but well-polished tannins. It rewards several years of cellaring.
