Tasting profile
Structure: light-bodied, medium tannin, high acidity, dry
Envínate's village-level Ribeira Sacra, Lousas Viñas de Aldea, is a field blend of old vines, mostly Mencía with Brancellao, Caíño, Sousón and Garnacha Tintorera, grown on slate, gneiss and granite terraces, chiefly in Ribeiras do Sil. Plots are fermented separately with native yeast and a good share of whole clusters, then aged in neutral oak. Light and nervy, with red cherry, currant and wild berries, violet and herbs, a ferrous mineral streak and fine, crunchy tannins.
