Tasting profile

Structure: medium-bodied, medium tannin, medium acidity, dry

An orange wine from Vinos Malaparte, the natural-wine project of Elisa de Frutos and Rubén Salamanca near Cuéllar (Segovia). It is made from 60-year-old organically farmed Verdejo grown at about 900 m, fermented with native yeasts and kept on its skins for around a month in old clay amphorae. Amber in colour, with dried apricot, orange peel, fennel and herbal notes, a gentle grip of skin tannin and a saline, bitter-almond finish. Production is small, about 1,000 bottles a year.
