Tasting profile
Structure: medium-bodied, medium tannin, high acidity, dry
Arroyo del Tórtolas is one of Bernabeleva's single-vineyard Garnachas from old, high-altitude vines on the granite of San Martín de Valdeiglesias in the Sierra de Gredos (DO Vinos de Madrid). Made with minimal intervention and a good part whole bunches, raised in large old wood, it is the opposite of ripe, heavy Garnacha: black raspberry and red cherry with clove, cedar, herbs and a saline, stony finish. Medium-bodied, fresh and fine-grained, it is firm when young and needs some bottle age to soften.
