Veratón is the second label of Alto Moncayo, the Campo de Borja project founded with Australian winemaker Chris Ringland and importer Jorge Ordóñez, made from old-vine Garnacha on the slopes of the Moncayo massif. It is a ripe, generous style: dense blackberry, black cherry and kirsch over sweet spice, mocha and licorice from oak ageing, with warm alcohol and rounded tannin. Built for rich food, it drinks well within a few years of release and holds for most of a decade.
