Gewürztraminer from a family domaine at Dahlenheim in the Bas-Rhin, in the classic Alsace register: lychee, rose petal and candied ginger over a broad, oily texture, with the low acidity that defines the variety and usually a whisper of residual sugar rounding the finish. Full-bodied and powerfully aromatic — the most immediately recognisable of Alsace's grapes and the least subtle. With age the aromatics shift from floral towards dried fruit, honey and marmalade.
