Tasting profile
Structure: full-bodied, low tannin, medium acidity, sweet
A Reserve Tawny — aged in cask longer than a basic ruby but without the indicated-age designation of a 10 or 20 Year, so it sits between the two in style. Red and dark berry fruit still present but softening, with walnut, caramel and dried fig starting to come through from the oxidative cask time. Sweet, full-bodied and smooth, with less nutty complexity than an aged tawny and more fruit. An approachable introduction to the style, and good lightly chilled.
