Lepores Barrique is the oaked red of Flädie, a vineyard estate outside Lund in Skåne, made mainly from Rondo with a smaller share of Cabernet Cortis, two cold-hardy varieties suited to southern Sweden. The 2018 was hand-picked, fermented on the skins for about a week and aged around eight months in oak. Dark berries and blackcurrant with a green, herbal edge and a little spice from the barrel; soft and juicy on the palate, with bright Nordic acidity and light, dry tannins on the finish. A light-structured red for drinking within a few years of the vintage.
