Tasting profile
Structure: medium-bodied, low tannin, high acidity, dry
Sauvignon Gris — a pink-skinned mutation of Sauvignon Blanc, rarer and rather different: less of the cut-grass and green-capsicum aggression, more stone fruit, citrus peel and a faintly spicy, textural weight. From the Fiefs Vendéens, a small Atlantic appellation on the Vendée coast south of Muscadet that few people outside France have heard of. Dry and medium-bodied with brisk acidity and a saline finish. An unusual bottle on two counts, and best drunk young and cold.
