Tasting profile

Structure: full-bodied, medium tannin, high acidity, dry

A 100% Primitivo from Coyote Canyon Vineyard in Washington's Horse Heaven Hills, made by Bart Fawbush's Bartholomew Winery in Seattle, a specialist in underrated Italian and Iberian varieties. Dark fruit leads (blackberry, blueberry, plum and black cherry) with nutmeg and black-pepper spice and a smoky edge. Fuller-bodied, but with lively acidity that keeps the long finish fresh. A versatile, good-value red that drinks well young and holds for around five years.
