Tasting profile
Structure: medium-bodied, low tannin, medium acidity, dry
Balla Géza's Stonewine Cadarcă comes from Miniș, the historic red-wine village east of Arad in western Romania, where Cadarcă (Kadarka) was once prized by the Austro-Hungarian court. The grape is fermented with native yeast and aged in large 5,000-litre casks, so the wine keeps its fruit and spice: sour cherry and red plum, wildflowers, paprika and pepper, on a medium-bodied, softly tannic frame. It is a fine everyday partner for spiced Central European food.
