**Peloponnese** — A large peninsula forming the southern tip of mainland Greece, and one of the country's most important areas for quality wine. It holds historic appellations such as Nemea, Mantinia and Patras. **Wines & grapes** — Reds come chiefly from Agiorgitiko, grown around Nemea, while the aromatic white Moschofilero shines in the cooler highlands of Mantinia. Roditis and sweet Muscat from Patras add further variety. **Character** — Landscapes range from warm coastal plains to cool mountain vineyards at altitude, yielding everything from soft, juicy reds to fresh, floral whites. The native grapes give the wines a distinctly Greek personality.
